Adiyiah ready to ‘test the waters’

Dominic Adiyiah is happy to finally get a chance to assert himself elsewhere after completing a three-year deal with Ukrainian top flight side Arsenal Kyiv. Now 22, Adiyiah had been loaned to Turkish second division two side Karsiyaka to get some playing time. But four months ago, his then parent club, AC Milan, terminated the year-long loan deal due to a lack of playing time and lack of contractual adherence. The player has recently been given another crack at the senior national team in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The player is delighted at a chance for first team action. “Sometimes in football, it’s not just about the name of the team,” Adiyiah told

“I was with them for one year and could not get a good team to play with. This new move is about me getting playing time.”The man who had a blistering year at youth level in 2009 says signing for the Italian giant is a lesson learned. “I have not regretted joining Milan because it also put me on the map in a way. I learned new things and played with great players.”Arsenal Kyiv are in the Europa League and for the youngster, it is great leverage of his talent. The Ukrainian season is on summer break and Adiyiah leaves Ghana in a few weeks to start pre-season preparations.
